Alberta Provincial Gymkhana Association

Alberta Provincial Gymkana Association (APGA) started in 1984. Our first gymkhana was held in May of 1985 in Swan Hills. We have continued to grow every since and love this equestrian sport today the same as we did when we first started.

Gymkhana is a Fun, Competitive Equestrian Sport

We encourage everyone to be involved as it's not just for riders. We believe that all members of a family can be involved in this fun, competitive equestrian sport.

APGA provides 5 different timed events:

  • Barrels
  • Poles
  • Stakes
  • Keyhole - (Pre-Pee-wees, Pee-wees and Juniors)
  • Flags - (Intermediates, Women under 36, Women over 36, Mens & Seniors

Please Note: All riders under the age of 18 must wear a certified high impact equine helmet while on the premises of APGA Shows.
